Unique Senior Care Top 20 Home Care Service Provider Award 2021 to 2025 colour logo

The ladies looking after my mother were genuinely caring, and she enjoyed their company. They were always conscientious and were kept well informed of her needs as they changed. We appreciated their reliability and experience.

Julia H (Daughter of Client)

The care is excellent and my mother is very happy with her care givers and looks forward to their visits. All carers are kind, empathetic and proactive - the managers and office staff are the same. I cannot recommend Unique Senior Care highly enough.

Judy R (Daughter of Client)

I am very happy with the service. The caregivers are always happy, friendly and very good at their jobs. I always feel safe with them and I look forward to them coming.

Robert W (Client / Service User)

We have been using Unique for 18 months now and are very pleased with them. My father adores his current pair of alternating carers and nothing is too much trouble, either from them or from their manager.

Sarah W (Daughter of Client)

Unique have been brilliant. Everything I said we needed has been provided in a friendly, professional and cheerful manner. I was concerned that my wife would struggle to accept help but the lady who comes is the same one each time, which was something we requested, has built up a good relationship with her.

Neville R (Husband of Client)

Unique have brought peace of mind with their professional and very caring service. From the first phone call, and then every subsequent staff member I met, gave me a feeling of confidence. I now personally understand why Unique comes highly recommended as I too have nothing but praise for the service offered by Unique.

What is hourly home care?

An older woman stood by a window smiling at her caregiver while holding a cup of tea

Hourly home care offers flexible support that fits around your life. Depending on the level of care you need and how many visits, a small team of caregivers will visit at scheduled times to support you with anything from cooking meals and sorting laundry to getting you ready at both ends of the day.

It’s designed for those who don’t need full-time care but want the reassurance of professional support when they need it. Visits can range from just an hour to multiple times a day and can be easily adjusted as circumstances change.

How much does hourly care cost?

Hourly home care costs vary depending on factors such as location, level of care required, and caregiver expertise. In South Warwickshire, Solihull, Coventry, and Kenilworth, the cost of care per hour is influenced by the specific needs of the client and the quality of service provided.

We know that care costs can add up, so we offer an off-peak care package to provide flexible support at a lower rate.

Our 2.5-hour companionship care visit for £80 (£32 per hour) is available between 10am and 4pm, making it an ideal option for those who need a little extra help during the day. Whether it’s a trip to the shops, a walk in the park, or simply some company at home, this offer allows you to receive high-quality care at a more affordable rate.

By choosing off-peak care, you can still benefit from a trusted, fully managed service while making your budget go further. If you'd like to explore whether this is the right option for you, get in touch with our team.

  • High client satisfaction – Our extensive client feedback, testimonials, and case studies showcase our commitment to exceptional care, giving prospective clients confidence in our service.

  • Regulatory excellence – With all of our hourly branches rated Good or Outstanding by the CQC, our clients receive well-regulated, high-quality care that prioritises safety, professionalism, and consistency.

How can I pay for home care?

There are several ways to cover the cost of hourly home care, including private funding, local authority support, NHS funding, and government benefits.

house icon

Funding options

  • Private funding – Paying for care yourself gives you full flexibility to choose your provider and tailor care to your needs.

  • Local authority funding – If you meet the financial criteria, your local council may help cover the cost of care. You’ll need a care needs assessment, and if approved, funding may be provided through direct payments or arranged services.

  • NHS continuing healthcare (CHC) – If you have ongoing complex health needs, you may qualify for fully funded care through the NHS. Eligibility is based on a CHC assessment, and if approved, all costs are covered.

Government benefits

These benefits are not means-tested, meaning they are based on care needs rather than income or savings.

  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – A benefit for people under state pension age who need help with daily living due to a long-term illness or disability.

  • Attendance Allowance – A benefit for those over state pension age who need support with daily living due to a disability or health condition. It is paid at two different rates based on care needs.

Carers were excellent; kind and professional - my father was always happy to see them.

We started off with a couple of hours a week and expanded the number of hours as we needed them. Even when a carer was unable to attend, a replacement carer was found and fitted in within the same time frame. Really, no complaints.
